Experience and Support

We are committed to not just supporting our students but building community and fostering a sense of belonging. We are designing the student experience so that no matter how students engage with Carolina in the fall, all students know that they are Tar Heels.

  • Pre-college programming.  We will facilitate summer engagement that bridges the pre-college, new student and returning student experiences.
  • Traditions at Carolina. We will support student access to our rich campus traditions whenever possible and to capture their essence through creative and innovative virtual and remote experiences.
  • Student  organization engagement.  Whether on campus, local to the Chapel Hill area or in virtual settings, we will support students and student organizations as they re-engage with each other in co-curricular activities. We will also support our student leaders and student organizations and the campus community with training, resources and technology support.
  • Regular check-ins.  Faculty and staff in the  CV19 Student Care Hub  will check-in regularly with students, helping them realize opportunities and recognize and resolve concerns as they arise.
  • Student Support Hub.  We will extend the  CV19 Student Care Hub  resources and services into the fall semester. Across campus, we will provide advising and academic services for students whether they are physically on campus or enrolled remotely.
  • Communication with  parents and families.  As we move through this academic year together, we will communicate regularly with parents and families so that they are aware of plans and changes.
