Updates to the Carolina Together Testing Program

Dear Carolina Community,
We have a few updates to the email regarding fall semester requirements and hours we sent earlier this week.
As we continue to prepare for the Fall Semester, we wanted to update you on the availability of testing for the coming weeks. To date, we have completed over 190,000 tests in the Carolina Together Testing Program. We applaud the community for being so diligent and utilizing this resource to keep Carolina healthy.
First, as a reminder to our community, the CTTP program is utilized for asymptomatic testing. If you are experiencing symptoms or are identified as a close contact, do not go to the Carolina Student Union testing location to receive a test.
- Students
- If you are experiencing symptoms or believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19, immediately self-isolate and contact Campus Health through the HealthyHeels portal or by calling 919-966-2281.
- Employees
- Employees should self-monitor for symptoms on a daily basis. Employees who develop fever or symptoms consistent with COVID-19 should immediately self-isolate and contact their primary care provider to arrange for medical evaluation and testing.
- The University Employee Occupational Health Clinic (UEOHC) no longer schedules COVID-19 testing for symptomatic employees. Please contact your primary care provider or obtain COVID-19 testing at one of your community testing locations. You do not need a physician’s order to obtain a COVID-19 test.
In addition, in order to accommodate continued efforts to allow for testing and for maintenance and preparation of our CTTP lab for the fall semester, the Campus Health team will oversee asymptomatic testing from August 4-11 in the same Carolina Union location. Campus Health will conduct the same self-collection method as CTTP, but we will not use HallPass during that time. We will resume using HallPass for appointments and test results on August 12.
This means a change to the hours and availability of the testing locations, so please note these changes. For next Monday and Tuesday, the Carolina Union will offer testing using HallPass at the following times:
-
- Monday, August 2 and Tuesday, August 3
- 9am-5pm at Carolina Union
- Monday, August 2 and Tuesday, August 3
During the week of August 4-11, members of the Campus Health team will perform the asymptomatic testing for students. We ask faculty and staff to refrain from asymptomatic testing during this time. No reservations will be needed. Results will be given to those who test during this time via a text message. If your test result is positive, follow-up will be initiated by the Campus Health team. The hours at the Carolina Union will be:
-
- Wednesday, August 4 through Wednesday, August 11
- 9am-5pm at Carolina Union
- Wednesday, August 4 through Wednesday, August 11
On August 12, we will resume the normal process for CTTP testing, utilizing our CTTP lab for processing and HallPass for appointments and test results. At that time, students, faculty and staff can participate in the asymptomatic testing. The hours and locations will be:
