UNC student Ariel Lam logs onto the HallPass application to begin her testing process at the UNC-CH COVID testing location at Frank Porter Graham Student Union on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. January 11, 2020. The self test is done with a swab and then sent to the UNC COVID Surveillance Laboratory for Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing process to determine if the sample is positive or negative for COVID-19. Dear Carolina Community,

As of yesterday, we have conducted more than 75,000 tests since the testing program began. Our overall positivity rate is currently 0.6% since Jan. 11 and 0.2% over the past two weeks in the CTTP. We want to share our continued gratitude to everyone who is getting tested.  You are helping keep our campus and community safe. In addition, we would like to thank the over 980 Carolina Student Service Corps volunteers who have volunteered over 11,000 hours to date. Your service during this time exemplifies the spirit of Carolina and has been invaluable. The continued community support of CTTP has been very exciting to watch.

Today we are sharing two technical notes on HallPass and updated hours for the Carolina Together Testing Centers. Please note that the testing centers will be closed on Sundays going forward unless needed.

HallPass Updates

As we mentioned last week, we are making an update to the user terms and conditions on HallPass. You will receive an email and text message suggesting you log into HallPass and agree to the updated user terms and conditions. Please take a moment to do this before arriving for a testing appointment window to ensure the testing process remains streamlined and quick. If you experience any issues, please logout and back into HallPass.

In addition, if you are having issues seeing your test results in HallPass, please uncheck the Hide Cancelled Orders check box (see HallPass image below). This will allow you to see all of your samples that have been submitted and received by the lab. If the status of a test result is Complete Cancelled, click on the link that says More to see the reason why. If you have a cancelled order, please visit a Carolina Together Testing Center to retest as soon as you are able.
